Functions of Aramid Staple Fiber
High strength and high modulus
The tensile strength of aramid staple fiber is greater than 25 g/denier, which is 5-6 times that of high-quality steel, 3 times that of glass fiber, and 2 times that of high-strength nylon industrial yarn. Its modulus is also 2-3 times that of high-quality steel or glass fiber, and 10 times that of high-strength nylon industrial yarn.
High temperature resistance
Aramid staple fiber has good high temperature resistance. For example, aramid 1313 can be used for a long time at 220°C, while aramid 1414 can be used at a high temperature of 560°C without decomposition or melting.
Flame retardancy
Aramid staple fiber has excellent flame retardant properties, its limiting oxygen index is greater than 28, it will not continue to burn after leaving the flame, and its flame retardant properties are determined by its own chemical structure, with permanent flame retardant effect .
Chemical stability
Aramid staple fiber can withstand most high-concentration inorganic acids and alkalis at room temperature, showing excellent chemical stability .
Radiation resistance
Aramid staple fibers have excellent radiation resistance and can maintain their strength under long-term ultraviolet or gamma ray irradiation.
Durability
After multiple washings, the strength and tear strength of aramid staple fibers can still be maintained at a high level, showing good resistance to friction and chemicals.

4. Para-aramid is used to make needle-punched aramid felt, mainly for fireproof blanket, welding blanket, flame retardant felt, high temperature resistant felt , thermal barrier , fire blocking layer.
5. Gloves made of para-aramid can prevent fingers from being cut, rubbed, punctured, high temperature and flames during industrial operations.
6. Aramid staple fiber has ideal wear resistance and high temperature resistance, replacing asbestos. The addition of 5% para-aramid fiber can achieve the effect of 20% asbestos. It can reduce the braking noise of the brake pads, enhance the wear resistance, effectively shorten the braking distance, prolong the service life and reduce the replacement frequency.
